Chamber hosts Law Enforcement Appreciation Breakfast

By Marci Watson, Staff Writer:

The Fannin County Chamber of Commerce held a breakfast event at Blue Ridge Swim and Tennis Club to honor and show appreciation to our law enforcement in the community.

Georgia State Senator Steve Gooch visits with law enforcement officers before the appreciation breakfast got underway.

A buffet breakfast was served and items donated by local businesses were packaged in gift bags for the law enforcement personnel to take with them after the breakfast. Chamber Board of Directors Chairman, Cynthia Panter, gave a welcoming speech. In Panter’s speech, she outlined all the ways the community appreciates city police and sheriff’s office deputies for the service they provide.

Over 100 community leaders, active-duty and retired law enforcement officers attended the event.  Georgia House of Representative Speaker David Ralston and  stateSenator Steve Gooch were just two of the notable attendees.

The Chamber would like to thank all the local businesses that contributed to the goody-bags: Blue Ridge Pharmacy,  Blue Ridge Cotton Company, BrotherHood Oil, Done Wright Packaging, Douglas Inn & Suites, DQ Grill & Chill, ETC, Fannin County Board of Education, Harry Norman, Hometown Foods, IGA, PruittHealth – Hospice, PruittHealth – Jan Reed, Sharon Schuller Kiser, Steve Tucker of Blue Ridge GA Realty, The News Observer, United Community Bank, Waffle House and Woodmen Life.
