Fannin Republican Party hold executive meeting:

The Republican party will hold an executive meeting on Tuesday, January 24th, at The Senior Center at 5:30PM.  Agenda is to plan the County Republican Convention on March 18th.

Chattanooga, TN – CHI Memorial’s mobile health coach will provide mammography screenings at Fannin County Family Connection on Thursday, January 12, 2017 from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. All women should have one screening mammogram between the ages of 35-40. After age 40, a screening mammogram is recommended every year.  Any woman who meets these age guidelines and has not had a mammogram in the past 12 months may participate, with or without insurance. For those with insurance, you must bring your insurance card and a photo ID, such as a driver’s license. Insurance will be filed for you.  If you do not have insurance, you may qualify for financial assistance.  The MaryEllen Locher Breast Center receives grants and partners with Tennessee Breast and Cervical Screening Program to provide eligible uninsured and under-insured women with breast and cervical screenings.  If an abnormality is discovered, the diagnostic work up is covered. There will be a free food distribution at the Morganton and Mountaintown Baptist Associations’ office in Blue Ridge on Wednesday, January 18, from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.  Everyone is welcome to come!  The only requirement is your presence. The office is located across from the Ingles shopping center and next to Serenity in the Mountains in Blue Ridge at 64 Tammen Drive. For more information, call 706-632-5741.

 


 

There will be a free food distribution at The Branch Baptist Church (formerly Pantertown) on Tuesday, January 10, from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.  Everyone is welcome to come!  The only requirement is your presence. The January Model Railroad Open House will be conducted Saturday, Jan 21st from 10am – 2pm at the Historic Depot, 150 Railroad Ave, Mineral Bluff, GA. All are invited to view trains operating through north Georgia circa.1952. Especially invited is anyone who has a special interest in model railroad as the organization has openings for new members. Legendary storyteller, showman and humorist, Andy Orfutt Irwin will be performing at the January 28, 2017 Songs & Stories hosted by The Craddock Center in Cherry Log, Ga. DIVORCE SUPPORT GROUP OPEN TO COMMUNITY: Cornerstone Baptist Church provides a free weekly support group for individuals at any place in the divorce process. The meeting begins at 6:00 P.M. each Wednesday evening after a 5:30 P.M. complimentary meal for the participants and their children, ending at 7:30.  A nursery is available if needed; children and teens can participate in the AWANAs program during the divorce group’s meeting.  The leaders, Bill and Linda March, invite anyone experiencing the hurt and confusion created by divorce to attend as often as needed.  Cornerstone is the brown log church located about one-fourth mile on the right north of The Pink Pig in Cherry Log.  Call Bill or Linda at 717-499-9126 for more information.


Snack in a Backpack is pleased to announce our 6th Annual Event Bringin’ the Blues to Blue Ridge. The event this year will be hosted by Willow Creek Falls on Saturday, February 25, 2017. Our theme this year is Mardi Gras with a fun night planned with a great band, a live and silent auction, and a great New Orleans buffet. We have tickets available for sale at two locations in town at the United Community Bank in Blue Ridge AND Park Sterling Bank at 220 Orvin Lance Connector in Blue Ridge.
